Pattern requires:
- 1-2 skeins of a DK weight yarn, depending on the size (gauge 21/22stitches=10cm)
- 4mm circular needles
- a pair of cissors
- a tapistry needle
- a knitting dolly for the icords

this is a hat for toddlers and children up to 7 years...

pattern offers 4 sizes:
1-2 years
2-3 years
3-4 years
5-7 years

required knitting skills:
Once you got those ( super easy to learn....) tiny cables for the circular brim handled... this Pixiehat is a quick knit and a fun little project, even for beginners and not very advanced knitters!
The back of the head is sewn together, so basic sewing skills are needed.

All methods needed (the cable details, 2 different selvedge stitches etc... ) are explained in detail with photographs and text.

cause - yes! Gnomes do exist... ! As much as i love a bonnet on a baby... the pixieshape to me is the cutest options for toddlers and elder kids. The brim with those two rows of tiny cables is a total eyecatcher (even though it is super easy to knit..) and the gnomish silhouette of the hat just makes children look like the sweetest little people from a woodland fairytale

... and why is it called Mimi Pixiehat? i originally designed it for my sisters daughter Mimi, who was 8 years old at the time. I wanted to make a hat, that would fit ALL our kids, boys and girls, babys, toddlers and schoolchildren.... perfect for siblings and other family members ....
